The Forest Park Police Department responded to Thornton’s Gas Station at 601 Harlem Ave, Forest Park, IL for a traffic crash and altercation.
The investigation revealed that thirty-one-year-old female resident of Chicago, IL was a passenger in a vehicle with her boyfriend driving. The vehicle pulled into the Thornton’s Gas Station because of car troubles. The female and her boyfriend engaged in a verbal, domestic dispute while in the gas station parking lot. Customers at the gas station began to interact with the two and a verbal dispute erupted between the couple and the customers. The customers and the female and her boyfriend continued their verbal exchange and taunts back and forth as an onlooker video recorded the incident. The customers threw an object at the vehicle couple was in. Her boyfriend exited the vehicle and she entered the driver’s seat with the verbal tirade continuing between all of the parties involved. The female’s boyfriend attempted stop her from driving, opening the car door. the female purposely crashed her auto into that of the party she was arguing with, dragging her boyfriend through the parking lot for a short distance. She then fled at a high rate of speed onto Harlem Ave. at Jackson Blvd. where she was involved in a rollover crash. Her boyfriend remained in the Thornton’s parking lot and was still engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the now victims. The couple fled on foot into the 600 Harlem and Elgin alleyway and were stopped by Forest Park PD officers. Both were treated for injuries at The Loyola University Medical Center with the female being arrested.
The Forest Park Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating this incident with charges against the female anticipated later this evening.
