The Treatment Response Team (TRT) was formed in June 2019 to bridge the gap in services for those seeking treatment for overdoses.
The TRT assists individuals and their loved ones with accessing substance use as well as mental health treatment in Cook County.
Licensed Clinicians work closely with the individual in or considering recovery and their support system to ensure they have access to quality medical care and treatment. Clinicians are available to you and your loved ones for ongoing support.
The TRT provides individual and family support sessions, transportation to treatment, Naloxone training, Naloxone and referrals for:
- Medicated assisted treatment
- Detox
- Inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment
- Sober living
- Psychiatric medication
- Inpatient and outpatient mental health services
Treatment Response Team’s Co-Responder Virtual Assistance Program
Beginning in 2021, the TRT began equipping Cook County Sheriff’s Police with virtual tablets to use when encountering individuals in need of immediate assistance from a TRT clinician.
Police can provide immediate access to a mental health professional 24/7 for anyone in mental distress.
These clinicians provide crisis intervention, counseling and emergency care coordination for individuals and their loved ones that are experiencing mental distress during a service call. TRT provides ongoing intervention, support, case management and UBER travel for TRT clients after the initial crisis to ensure clients stability and wellness.
