Police Facility Detention

    Home Police Facility Detention

There are almost 19,000 state and local police agencies in the United States. The useful life of a police facility can range from 20 to over 50 years. The Forest Park Police lock up adheres to the rules set forth by the Illinois Department of Corrections. The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) was established in 1970. During its creation, the agency combined administration of all state prisons, juvenile centers and adult and juvenile parole services under one direction.

The current Forest Park Police Department opened in October 1975. The police department currently has five adult cells and one juvenile holding room. There’s a separate detention area to secure offenders during intake processing. Adults charged with a criminal offense not able to post the required bond are held overnight until taken to bond hearings.
