The Forest Park Police Department’s Neighborhood Watch Program has been a valuable asset to the Village for more the twenty years. The core group of members was instrumental in the Program’s development and has been of great assistance to the Police Department with crime prevention programs as well as special events. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month at Village Hall and new members are always encouraged.

Crisis Intervention Team
In the spring of 2008, the Forest Park Police Department became one of the west suburbs’ first departments to have officers attend the Chicago Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. The team specializes in assisting residents with mental health and substance abuse issues. Most recently the team members attended training to better assist veterans and their families with issues relating to PTSD and re-acclimating to civilian life upon returning from deployment. The CIT officers are certified Crisis Intervention workers with the State of Illinois and there is currently one officer assigned to each of the three patrol shifts.

The Department currently has one ESO assigned to each of the three patrol shifts.
