Call-Takers

The Police Department prohibits parking on the streets from 2:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. However, there are times circumstances require persons to park their car on the street overnight. The Village understands this and allows persons to notify the police department when they need an exemption from enforcement. As this is usually a last minute need, the police department employs one “Call Taker” each night specifically dedicated to this function. In addition to processing parking requests, they conduct miscellaneous clerical duties throughout their shift.

When calling the parking line (708)366-7272 between 8:00pm until 2:00am, the call-taker will process your overnight parking request. They immediately enter the information into a computer system and respond to you with a required reference number. The list is then compiled for the parking enforcement officers each night. When calling have the following information ready:

1. Vehicle license plate number and state
2. Vehicle location
3. Vehicle make/model

Please be patient when calling as we consistently receive 250-400 requests each night. If you receive a busy signal, please wait a few minutes and call back. We will not accept requests after 2:00 a.m. If you have any extended overnight parking issues (due to construction, flooding, out of town guests, etc.) please call during regular business hours:
